This property, which featured on the Channel 4 TV show 'Country House Rescue' in April 2010, is a splendid example of Victorian architecture, and simply exudes character. The moment guests steps through the grand entrance they know they are in for a memorable holiday. The well equipped kitchen boasts an Aga, whilst the six bedrooms offer sumptuous sleeping accommodation. There is a family room providing a space for younger members of the party, and 'grown-ups' can enjoy the ambience of the spacious drawing room with its baby grand piano and dance floor. With many other rooms and set in beautiful grounds, this magnificent property makes a perfect venue for larger gatherings with family or friends who wish to visit this fabulous area.

Four oven AGA, electric cooker with ceramic hob, microwave, 2 x fridges, freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, TVs with Sky, DVDs, Wii, WiFi, telephone. Piano & table tennis table. Fuel, power and starter packs for fire and woodburners inc. in rent, extra fuel available to purchase locally. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Cot and highchair available. Off road parking for 7 cars. Covered bike storage. Large, fully enclosed and secure lawned garden with spacious gravelled sitting area, hot tub, furniture and BBQ. Access to Abbey Dore Court Gardens (when open to the public between April and end of September, by arrangement). Two dogs welcome. Sorry, no smoking. Shop 2.5 miles, pub 15 mins walk. Note: A fenced river runs through the grounds of the property approximately 20 yards from the house, children should be supervised at all times. Note: 4pm check-in. |

Taking a break in one of our holiday cottages in Herefordshire is the perfect antidote to the stresses and strains of city life. The countryside here is mainly farmland, a patchwork of field and meadows, and village life proceeds at a gentle pace. But there’s plenty to do if you’re feeling active. Walking, cycling and riding are all popular activities here and for the more adventurous there’s canoeing and rock climbing on offer.
This is also the perfect opportunity to explore the beautiful Wye Valley. Set in a limestone gorge and surrounded by dense woodlands, the valley is a haven for wildlife, some of it rarely seen outside the county. Or, for something different during one of our Herefordshire cottage holidays, why not take the cider tour?
There are also some delightful towns and villages to explore. The city of Hereford has an impressive cathedral, famous for the Mappa Mundi, showing the world as it was seen at the end of the 13th century. Ross-on-Wye is the main tourist centre for the area and has a number of lovely antique shops to browse, while the high street in historic Ledbury is lined with delightful timbered Tudor houses.
